Kasey Makes Brave Changes

making weight loss a reality while living the mom life

Almost 35 years ago, I weighed 6 pounds and some ounces. I’m not sure how many ounces since the record button on my memory wasn’t pushed for another four years or so. Anywho, today I bring many more pounds to the table, both literally and figuratively. My last scale experience was 274 pounds. What the heck!? Where did that extra 268 pounds come from? I know it isn’t all muscle. There are some bones and water, and other tissues involved, but according to my brilliant scale, 58% of my body weight is fat. Pfft.

What Happened?

There are days I am baffled about the origin of all that adipose tissue. How did it get here? When did it get here? Both my parents are thin people, so it wasn’t from them. Was it hormones? Big Macs? Venti caramel Frappuccinos with extra caramel and a tower of whipped cream? Too many Netflix binges?

A Lot Happened

Yes. All of the above. Affirmative. Whichever way you want to say it, it was all those things that contributed to my current scale reading. Some of it I could have prevented. Some of it is genetics. How much of each is mostly irrelevant. What is relevant is that I can change the parts of it I can control, and I can use that change to create a slimmer, healthier vessel for me to experience my life. I’m here to show you how I do that so that you can do the same thing. I know life can be insanely crazy. I know Ben and Jerry’s can be your best friend when stress comes lurking through your day. I also know that we are both strong, capable women who can control our own lives and our own scales if we have the right tools and the right why. I’ll help you find both.
